This Saturday, November 26th will mark the 2nd annual "Small Business Saturday", a day created in 2010 by American Express Chairman and CEO Kenneth Chenault and NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
The goal is to direct consumers towards local, independently owned businesses instead of large chain-like retailers normally supported by Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there were nearly 28 million small businesses in the United States in 2009.
Small Business Saturday has gained popularity over the last year by word of mouth, internet & television ads, and social networking sites such as Facebook (their FB page has over 2 million "likes"), Google and Twitter.
So join in on the movement to "Shop Small" in support of Small Business Saturday this November 26th!
Happy Thanksgiving and HAPPY SHOPPING :)
