Peepers for Teachers Over the Years
If you know anything about Peepers, you know how much we value the contributions of our local teachers, which is why we go out of our way each year to support, honor, and pamper them. Our Peepers for Teachers Initiative continues to grow, thanks to support from our customers as well as proceeds from our Frame of the Month program, with 10% of applicable sales going to Peepers for Teachers.
Peepers for Teachers began in 2012 as a fun campaign to donate reading glasses to teachers. After the success of the first year, we have continued to run the sweepstakes. The competition takes place on our social media and invites teachers to enter their schools to win free Peepers for all of the teachers at their school. Teachers are hard workers that brighten the minds of our youth each and every day.
Our winners for 2016 are listed below. These schools received a total donation of $3,000 worth of reading glasses.

In 2018, Peepers took the initiative to deliver tote bags full of goodies to teachers at three schools:
Notre Dame
Marsh Elementary
Springfield elementary
Each tote bag was stuffed with a variety of supplies, including basic necessities like pencils, sharpies, Expo markers, highlighters, Post-It notes, loose leaf paper, and construction paper, as well as useful extras like Kleenex, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, and more.
In 2019, we raised more than $6,000 through our Frame of the Month program, Sale on Sale promotions, and of course, generous customer donations. This money goes to a variety of causes intended to help teachers and classrooms, including school supplies, charitable causes, Peepers for Teachers events, and more.
Peepers donated over 1,600 pairs of glasses in 2019, along with an additional 47 pairs donated to school fundraising events. Peepers for Teachers also supported three teacher-driven, Donor’s Choice projects: providing sensory tools to help students with cognitive disabilities, delivering art supplies to disadvantaged students, and stocking a classroom library with multicultural texts.
Through our ongoing fundraising partnership with the Unity Foundation, we raised over $41,000 in donation's for our Peepers for Teachers in 2021!
In 2022 we donated 10% of sales May 2 – May 6 to Peepers for Teachers. Additionally, we had a "Nominate a Teacher" drawing where four randomly chosen, lucky teachers each received $500!
In August 2022, we hosted our 3rd-annual Peepers for Teachers parking lot event. In addition to giving away unlimited glasses for teachers in our area, we also awarded three cash prizes to schools in our area who had at least 1 teacher represented at the event. These three prizes totaled $2,500. The lucky winners were:

We didn't stop there! Peepers was also able to offer special prize baskets to four teachers. These baskets were packed with back-to-school essentials, including classroom décor items, hand sanitizer, cardstock, highlighters, flair pens, and other teacher favorites.
Here at Peepers, we know how important it is to start your day on a positive note, and providing continental breakfast and coffee is a great start! Our remote Peeps delivered complimentary breakfast to 5 lucky classrooms around the United States! We had Peeps in Missouri, Philadelphia, Illinois and Florida pick a lucky school from their community to give back too.
We also sponsored a table for the New Teacher Luncheon hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and funded 20 donor projects. These teachers are located all around the United States and have curated their own classroom wish list for DonorsChoose.
So far in 2023 we have funded 7 Donors Choose projects and will be donating 10% of proceeds from this years Teacher Appreciation Week, as well as giving away $500 giveaway baskets to two lucky schools!
