For the truest reflection
Getting a great try-on
A few small things make the frames sit truer to life.
-
Face the light
Sit facing a window or a lamp. Light from behind leaves your face in shadow and makes frames harder to place.
-
Hold steady, at eye level
Keep your phone or laptop about an arm’s length away, with your eyes and ears in view. Tuck back any hair that covers them.
-
Set your own pair aside
For the truest fit, take off the glasses you’re wearing before you start, so the new frames sit on your face, not over your old ones.
-
Can’t see without them?
Switch to Photo in the try-on window and upload a selfie taken without your glasses. Then put your pair back on and compare frames at your leisure.
If the camera won’t start
Let’s get you back in the mirror
Virtual Try-On needs your camera and an up-to-date browser. Most hiccups come down to a permission tapped away by mistake, and it only takes a moment to fix.

Live try-on works best in Safari on iPhone and iPad.

Rather stay in the app? Switch to Photo and try frames on a selfie.

Switch to Photo in the try-on window and upload a clear, front-facing selfie. Or open this page on your phone and try frames on live.
Quick checks
- When your browser asks to use the camera, choose Allow.
- Close other apps that may be using it, like FaceTime, Zoom or Teams.
- Use the latest Safari on iPhone and iPad, Chrome on Android, or Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox on a computer.
- Opened Peepers from Instagram, Facebook or TikTok? Open the page in Safari or Chrome. Those apps’ built-in browsers can’t reach your camera.
- Window looks cut off on a laptop? Reset your browser zoom to 100% (Ctrl + 0, or ⌘ + 0 on a Mac).
- Still stuck? Pause any ad or content blocker for peepers.com, or switch between Wi-Fi and cellular.
